Inspiration from a real author!
Phil Kettle is a prolific Australian children’s author who specialises in encouraging reluctant readers. Phil has achieved great success with a number of entertaining book series, including Get Real, Too Cool, Boyz Rule and Girlz Rock. Phil visits schools throughout Australia and the world talking about reading and writing. Phil visited Nixon Street Primary on Tuesday, and took two entertaining and engaging sessions with students in Grades 2-6. He shared his simple but effective model for successful writing: ideas + imagination = a good story.
Students were entranced by his engaging personality and fascinating stories. We were privileged to have this opportunity to share the experiences of a real author; someone who genuinely makes writing real and fun. We thank and congratulate Mrs Judy Chugg, our library technician, for arranging this very positive experience for our students.
